Thanks to all for your responses to our recent survey The one suggestion I am (largely) implementing in this edition is to list the entire upc code (where available) for most cd's & dvd's I would appreciate your feedback as to whether this change is helpful to you; it's a bit time consuming, but if it helps you I'll keep it!
2 other suggestions that are on my radar:
Look at getting more into vinyl We send out an invitation for a small special order list; I will likely be sending a 2nd invitation for a much larger list soon You still have through mid day Sunday to order off of the current Vinyl special order list
One person suggested creating & uploading an Excel file to the website with our entire inventory I would like to find the time to do this; as due to market conditions I am pulling more & more off of ebay, & I haven't kept up with adding these titles to our clearance list nearly as well as I did last year
There were also some other great suggestions that are unfortunately not practical for me as 56 year old disabled person running a 1 person business I also looked seriously at leaving ebay for Amazon; but Amazon's fee's are 15-20 higher than ebay's, & on most titles both are prices & profit margin have shrunk to levels that would have been unbelievable even 2 years ago
The good news, is that we continue to bring you great bargains!

* Jimi Hendrix - Axis Outtakes (Sealed UK 2 CD Set) - First time we've had this since 2004, when it was $29 99! From 2004: I kept one for myself Here's what I think - The Good: Has some interesting stuff The coolest thing on here is an instrumental studio take of Little Wing that sent shivers I've always felt Jimi's biggest strength was in his unique chording This take of Little Wing joins the rhythm guitar track from Electric Ladyland on Loose Ends as the clearest example ever Other interesting tracks include an extended 11 recording of 3 Little Bears from the same take that was edited into a 3 minute version on War Heroes, an all new track to me called Cat Talkin' To me, & a very cool flamenco version of Cherokee Mist I have a pretty large Hendrix collection & all but 2 or 3 of these are new to me The Not As Good (aka The Interesting): Only 6 of the 21 tracks are actually Axis Outakes Side 2 is mostly studio jams, although several are quite interesting There's also 2 versions of Takin' Care of No Business where Jimi's starting to explore some ideas that were later used as Belly Button Window & My Friend Also has a superior version of Laughing Sam's Dice This was issued by the same folks who did the Rainbow Bridge concert earlier this year While they're really not clear on this, it appears that their right to release this material has something to do with Yameta who I believe was doing Jimi's publishing when he was alive I remember seeing that name on his vinyl LP's I've seen this release in 1 large US chain store, so I'm assuming it's not a bootleg AMG also calls the Rainbow Bridge release from this company "authorized" The Ugly: The sound quality varies quite a bit Several of the songs sound fine, others are definitely bootleg quality I'd recommend this as being quite interesting for serious fans, but not for a casual listener Purple Haze UK 00322 $13 99

* Maria McKee - Life Is Sweet - This is one of my favorite albums of all time Each of Maria's solo cd's has been stylistically different, which may be why she's had difficulty finding a large audience Her first was a folky ballad album, her second was country, & as Rolling Stone commented at the time of release, this cd has much in common musically with Ziggy Stardust, except for a heavier guitar sound This one hit me hard immediately from the first time I played it, which rarely happens On all levels - musically, lyrically, & of course with Maria's awesome voice, I can't recommend this cd enough It's a shame that this wasn't better promoted Unbelievably, this cd has gone out of print in the US Geffen 24819 $4 99
