Welcome to #9! It feels like it's taken forever to write this one (see the "Newsletter Now Playing List" at the end to get an idea of just how long), but I think & hope you'll find it worth it!
Back when I started the online version of Dandylion in 1998, it was largely modeled after the mail order company that I held in the highest regard back in 1998: Collector's Choice Music (Though on a smaller scale & with much lower prices) CCM started out many years ago as a catalog mail order only company who's mission was to offer quality & at times somewhat esoteric music that your average chain store didn't feel was worth their time They eventually expanded into websales & finally also became one of the earliest indie reissue labels (I believe they were the 2nd of importance in the cd era; One Way being the first)
The CCM in house label reissued 100's of titles that the majors weren't willing to bother with: Rock, Folk, Jazz, Blues & Classic Pop/Easy They also released some original titles including a wonderful Jazz V-Disc series (much of which is now out of print, but several of which are in this newsletter) Just a few of the other highlights they released include all of Wendy Waldman's Warner albums (to this day the only non Japan release on cd), lots of rare Kingston Trio, obscure 60's psychedelica, most of Dean Martin's catalog; I could go on & on!
But instead I'll get to the point: sadly (to me anyway) they have been purchased by the largest remaining USA import wholesaler, Super D; & Super D appears to be totally liquidating the in house label (it appears they bought CCM just for the Mail order catalog business, but that's another story for another day ) but the good news is starting with the Jefferson Airplane titles in #7 we've brought in almost all of the remaining CCM titles for you You'll find them in all genres in this newsletter & at great prices!
Like usual, the quantity in stock is in () after the price if we have more than 1 I would strongly suggest ordering early if there's any titles you'd like, as some of these have already gone out of print since I placed the order (there will also be some titles we can reorder if we sell out)

A couple other things to mention before getting into specific artists: We picked up a great batch of budget priced official Italian reissues of classic Chess Blues & Verve Jazz titles (watch for more of these in the next newsletter), & an (unfortunately) small batch of Japanese imported cd at closeout pricing I actually ordered more than twice what we received, but in the overstock market, as a retailer I go through the same anticipation you do with us when you write; not knowing which items I'll get & which someone else beat me to!
Here's a few specifics in this list: Alanis Morissette fans, I just bought a large Alanis cd singles collection tonight; many are still sealed & all are priced low! Other rock highlights include a selection of 70's & 80's reissues from the indie American Beat label with artists like Joe Ely, Black Oak Arkansas, Dave Edmunds & Gary US Bonds I'm also really excited that we're able to offer 2 of the Wendy Waldman albums I mentioned earlier (imo she may be the most under appreciated singer-songwriter of the 70's), we've got lots of the Jefferson Airplane CCM live sets back in (we've sold out twice so far), 3 Buzzy Linhart's, lots of Everly Brothers & 4 Seasons for early 60's fans, a 2008 Ted Nugent live cd, & tons more
In R&B, you'll find the Chambers Brothers, "2fer's" from Aretha Franklin & The Impressions, & more In Jazz, just a few of the highlights include a classic Verve release from Ellingtonians Clark Terry & Paul Gonzalves, several Basie titles, V-Discs, "Soundies" & Standard Transcriptions from Jimmy Dorsey, Fats Waller, Red Norvo, Louis Jordan, Stan Kenton, Charlie Spivak & a rare broadcasts cd from Billie Holiday You'll also find a few more V-disc sets from artists like Lena Horne & Nat King Cole in Pop (I THINK we're carrying all the titles that are left; I highly recommend the Ellington 3 cd set if you ever see it!)
In Blues, some of the Italian Chess titles include Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, BB King & more (& watch for NL #10 with 1 more Dixon title & 18 more Italian Verve's!) In folk/acoustic there's several early Judy Collins cd's, + Kingston Trio, John Fahey, Kate Wolf, the pre Mamas & Papas Mugwumps & lots more
I could go on & on, but there are 100's of absolute hard to find gems scattered throughout this list
Finally in dvd's, we've got 2 of the superb 1930's Warner 6 disc gangster box sets (think Cagney, Bogart & the great Eddie Robinson), the Wizard of Oz deluxe 3 disc at less than half last year's discounted price, a very special high quality (& out of print) Roan edition of Bela Lugosi's the Invisible Ghost, a Clark Gable box, a very cool Stanley Kramer 5 film box (Brando's The Wild One, Hepburn & Poitier in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner & more), Ken Burns' PBS The War Box, lots of Pretty In Pink "I Love the 80's Edition", A TCM 4 classic film set (1 of the 4 is Casablanca!), lots of John Wayne & much much more!
