*** Pied Pumkin - Allah Mode - New Sealed
Vinyl LP - Their second album features Shari, Rick & Joe joined by future
Hometown Band Bass Player Doug Edwards & drummer Geoff Eyre. After this
album, Shari would leave the trio to join The Hometown band as vocalist for
their 2 fine albums. This record features the first recorded version of Shari's
best known song, Fear Of Flying which was actually written by guitarist Joe
Mock. Other highlights include Lotus Eater Blues, & Bless The King Heart.

New Sealed Vinyl LP - After Shari Ulrich left for the Hometown band, Rick Scott
& Joe Mock continued on as a duo for 2 more fine records. This one features
a guest spot from Shari on Caught In The Rain; + Mushroom Madrigal, No 5 Orange,

but not sealed)
- We've had great success
with 3 other out of print Springfield albums,

print, but it includes a
"Sweat For Success" tour poster!! This is

*** The Tubes - Love Bomb (sealed) - This
is the last record released by the original band, and is not available
on US cd. Includes the hit, Piece by Piece. This is

*** Shari Ulrich - Long Nights - One of the great unheard albums of all
time. Never released in the US, this was a bit of a hit in Canada.
Shari's career started with the folky Pied Pumpkin, moved to the funky
Hometown Band & then released this killer rock album in the early 80's.
A very loose comparison could be made to Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac,
except Shari's voice is much better. She's also an accomplished violin
player. Includes the Canadian hit single Bad bad Girl, + Long Nights,
Chameleon, Mysterious Child & more. I'm familiar with the A&M Canada
release. This version is on Sloth Records out of vancouver BC. I don't
know if it's the original, or a later reissue. If you're into vinyl &
great well played pop/rock this comes highly recommended - it's one of
my all time favorites. To the best of my knowledge it's never been
released on cd. Sloth Canada 9046. $6.99
*** Shari Ulrich - Talk Around Town - New Autographed LP
Shari's third solo album from 1982 has never been released on cd. This is brand new, still in shrink wrapped & autographed by Shari! We can definitively authenticate the autograph, as we are selling this for her.
This record was a bit of a change for Shari. After the folk of Pied Pumpkin & Funk Jazz of The Hometown Band her first 2 solo albums had somewhat of a Fleetwood Mac type pop groove. On Talk Around Town she merged her previous styles with what was a more contemporary (in 1982) New Wave sound. The standout tracks which stand alongside her best work ever are The One & Only, & I'm Not The One.Oother highlights include You're Making Me Nervous, With or Without You & You're Not So Innocent. I listened to Shari's music constantly in the late 70's & 80's & always felt she would have been really successful if either MCA or A&M would have put some effort into promoting her records. This is her only solo USA release. Produced by Claire Lawrence from the Hometown Band. Highly recommended! This is a cut out.

Rock
*** Pied Pumkin / Pied Pear: Featuring Shari Ulrich on violin & vocals, Rick Scott on dulcimer, vocals & much of the song writing & Joe Mock on guitar, vocals & song writing, The Pumpkin would have been right at home in 1960's San Francisco. Instead, they came at the the tail end of the Canadian progressive folk movement that also brought artists like Ian
Tamblyn, Bruce Cockburn & David Wiffen. They combined a bit of the San Francisco hippy ethic & The UK silly folk ethic (Fairport Convention & friends) with some great song writing & playing (Shari is pretty much a virtuoso on violin), & a wonderful sense of humor. Throw in some tremendous harmonies and finally, add to that Rick's unique musical persona which could perhaps be described as being a bit similar to the Tubes Fee Waybill without Fee's dark side. What I can tell you is all 4 of their albums (especially the first 2 with Shari) were on my stereo constantly in the late 70's - mid 80's. If you're into well played, touching acoustic music with an innocence & great sense of humor, these all come highly recommended. We are currently offering all 4 Pied Pumpkin / Pied Pear albums; & Shari's first & third solo album. None of these have ever been on
cd.
